Rowan Precision has proudly announced the addition of Sheriyar Hussain as their newest apprentice, marking a significant step in their ongoing commitment to nurturing talent in the engineering sector. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration with Make UK, aimed at addressing the persistent skills shortages in the manufacturing industry.
Commitment to Training Future Engineers
Sheriyar Hussain joins Rowan Precision as a CNC engineering apprentice, where he will receive comprehensive training from experienced engineers. This hands-on experience is crucial as the company continues to expand its capabilities and adapt to new market demands, particularly in the medical and defence sectors. The apprenticeship program is designed to equip Sheriyar with the necessary skills to operate advanced machinery, including the state-of-the-art Miyano BNE-51 model, which is integral to the company’s operations.
Addressing Industry Challenges
The decision to take on an apprentice comes at a time when the UK manufacturing sector is facing significant challenges, including a shortage of skilled workers exacerbated by Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rowan Precision recognises that investing in apprenticeships is essential not only for their growth but also for the sustainability of the industry as a whole. By partnering with both Aston University with Ricardo, who is studying his degree apprenticeship, and Make Uk with Sheriyar we are ensuring our team gets the best resources.
Looking Ahead
As Rowan Precision moves forward with its strategic goals, including implementing medical standards like ISO 13485, the role of skilled engineers becomes increasingly vital. The company believes that developing young talent through apprenticeships is key to maintaining its competitive edge and meeting customer needs effectively.
By welcoming Sheriyar into their team, Rowan Precision demonstrates it’s commitment to fostering new talent and ensuring that the future of engineering remains bright and innovative. This initiative not only supports Sheriyar’s career development but also strengthens Rowan’s position as a leader in precision engineering.
